Alexander Crnokrak and Matthew Dellavedova are on track for a final battle between the tournament’s top two seeds in the 16/u Australian Championships.

It’s the same scenario in the girls’ 16/u event, with top seed Gabriella Da Silva-Fick and No.2 seed Olivia Gadecki just one round away from a 1 v 2 finale at Melbourne Park.

No.1 seed Crnokrak overcame fifth seed Connor Di Marco 6-3 7-5 to reach the semifinals, where he will play Dane Sweeny, a 6-3 6-2 winner over Jayden Court.

Sweeny is the only unseeded player remaining in either the boys’ or girls’ 16/u events.

Dellavedova, the second seed, defeated Stefan Storch 6-3 6-4, setting up a battle with fourth seed Thomas Bosancic – a straight-sets winner over Campbell Salmon – in the semis.

In girls’ action, Da Silva-Fick was forced to battle in the first set before subduing qualifier Tayla Whitehouse 7-6(5) 6-2.

Da Silva-Fick in the semifinals plays Ivana Popovic, who dropped just one game in beating another qualifier, Georgia Ryan.

Gadecki – who last week won the 14/u tournament – took her winning streak to nine matches with a 7-5 6-4 triumph over sixth seed Patricia Apisah.

In the semifinals she’ll meet No.5 seed Selina Turulja, a 6-2 6-1 winner over third seed Lisa Mays.

In the 12/u boys’ tournament, three of the top four seeds – Lennon Jones (2), Kousuke Morita (3) and Jeremy Jin (4) – progressed to the semifinals.

The only one who didn’t was top seed Alec Braund, who was upset 6-3 6-3 by No.6 seed Amor Jasika.

Jasika is the younger brother of Omar, who later on Friday advanced to the final of the Australian Open Play-off.
