Australia’s Daria Gavrilova has breezed through to the second round of the WTA Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open.

The No.8 seed crushed Chinese qualifier Zhu Lin 6-0 6-2 in just 67 minutes.

Gavrilova won almost three quarters of her first-serve points and saved all four break points she faced.

In the second round she will take on Czech Katerina Siniakova, who beat American Nicole Gibbs in three sets.

Should the seedings hold, Gavrilova will meet world No.1 and top seed Angelique Kerber in the quarterfinals.

Another Aussie, Sam Stosur, plays her first-round match against Nao Hibino of Japan on Tuesday.
