Australian tennis sisters Anastasia and Arina Rodionova have been called up to the Olympic Games because of the late withdrawal of another team.
The Russian-born sisters will be rushed to the Rio Games and become the ninth set of siblings on the Australian Olympic team.
“Today we were notified there was a withdrawal from women’s doubles and as the first reserves, Anastasia and Arina Rodionova have now received a quota place,” Australian chef de mission Kitty Chiller told reporters on Monday.
She did not specify which team withdrew.
