Melbourne VIC, Australia, 21 August 2015 | tennis.com.au

Australians nationwide are hitting their local tennis courts in droves as the sport continues to surge in popularity.

To meet the demand, clubs around the country are opening their doors to the community from this weekend as part of Tennis Australia’s Free Tennis Days campaign.

The campaign encourages people of all ages and tennis abilities to pick up a racquet and have a hit.

Tennis regulars and newcomers are invited to participating clubs to enjoy free activities including ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis, a Hit the Target competition, coaching, free play, face painting, a BBQ and more.

Clubs running a Free Tennis Day will earn points for their town to secure a main draw player at Australian Open 2016.

Last year, Kendall (NSW) took top spot on the town leaderboard and chose to be represented by world No.1 Novak Djokovic on court at Australian Open 2015.
