Aussies James Duckworth and Alex Bolt have qualified for the main draw at Indian Wells to take the Aussie male contingent to seven in the Californian desert.

Duckworth, seeded ninth in qualifying, recovered to beat American Rajeev Ram 2-6 7-5 6-4, while Bolt recordedĀ a 6-3 7-5 victory over Ireland’s James McGee.

Another Aussie, Luke Saville, was unable to join the pair in the main draw, falling 6-1 7-6(3) to Serbia’s Filip Krajinovic.

In the women’s main draw, Daria Gavrilova continued her impressive form, swatting aside Spaniard Silvia Soler Espinosa.

Having already won two matches in qualifying – and saving match points in the final round – Gavrilova took her winning streak to three with a 6-3 6-3 victory.

Next up for the Russian-born Aussie is No.3 seed Simona Halep.

Ajla Tomljanovic fell 7-6(6) 6-4 to American wildcard Irina Falconi in her first-round match.
