Australian No.2 Marinko Matosevic has breezed into the second round of the ATP event in Atlanta with a 43-minute victory over Victor Estrella Burgos.

Matosevic won 6-0 6-2 against the Dominican, setting up a second round match against Tim Smyczek of the United States.

The Victorian did not face one break point during the rout at the ATP 250 event, smacking six aces and winning more than three quarters of points on his first serve.

Matosevic’s compatriots Matt Ebden and John-Patrick Smith fell in their first round matches on Monday.

Ebden went down 6-4 6-2 to Germany’s Benjamin Becker, while Smith, a qualifier, lost 6-4 6-4 to another qualifier in Ukrainian Illya Marchenko.
