Sam Stosur and Svetlana Kuznetsova have fallen in a match tiebreak to top seeds Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai in the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open.

The Aussie-Russian combo won the first set before being reeled in by the reigning Wimbledon champions, falling 3-6 7-6(5) [10-2] in one hour and 35 minutes.

Hsieh and Peng go on to play Cara Black and Sania Mirza in the final.

It was Stosur and Kuznetsova’s best result as a duo since winning the WTA title in Moscow in October 2013.
