Another winning day for Australian juniors at Open
The second day of the junior 2014 Australian Open tournaments was another one for Australian players. Four Aussie’s have won through to the second round with of the singles events on Day 2 and they will join the six winners from yesterday to ensure that Australia is very well represented in the second round of both draws.

Four Aussie’s have won through to the second round with of the singles events on Day 2 and they will join the six winners from yesterday to ensure that Australia is very well represented in the second round of both draws.
Omar Jasika sizzled in his opening round match, taking just an hour and eight minutes to defeat China’s Wei Qiang Zheng 6-3 6-2.
Oliver Anderson also wasted no time in his first round match. Anderson took just an hour and 11 minutes, hitting 17 winners, en route to a straight-sets victory over Brazilian Rafael Matos 6-4 6-3.
16-year-old Naiktha Bains (pictured) was equally as brutal when she disposed of Japan’s Shiori Fukuda 6-2 6-1.
Olivia Tjandramulia toiled through a grueling three-set encounter to earn her place in the second round. In a match that lasted just under two hours, Tjandramulia proved too good for Japan’s Nozomi Ohya, winning 6-4 4-6 6-2.
Tjandramulia then teamed-up with Bains to win their round one doubles encounter against Italians Verena Hofer
and Beatrice Lombardo, winning in straight-sets 6-3 6-2 to top off a great day for the pair
