On a day of perfect conditions for tennis, top seed Yuki Bhambri of India began his Sydney Olympic Park Tennis International #2 campaign in similarly perfect style.
Bhambri, ranked No.287 and the Australian Open 2009 junior champion, brushed aside Scott Browne of New South Wales 6-1 6-0 on Wednesday as first round matches were completed at the Pro Tour event.
Second seed Yong-Kyu Lim of Korea and No.4 seed Adam Feeney (NSW) were challenged early in their matches, each taken to first set tiebreakers before sailing through their second sets to secure their place in the second round.
Japanese eighth seed Kento Takeuchi and Aussies Blake Mott (NSW), Steven De Waard (QLD), and Omar Jasika (VIC) also enjoyed straight set wins to move forward in the draw.
Second round singles matches will kick-off on Wednesday from 10am as another perfect day is forecast for Sydney. Men’s doubles semifinal action will follow from 1.00pm.
