Casey Dellacqua’s exciting run at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo has come to an end at the hands of 16th seed Dominika Cibulkova on Tuesday.

The Australian fell 7-5 6-3 in one hour and 16 minutes in the second round match, bringing an end to her three-match winning streak.

Dellacqua had won two matches to qualify for the main draw and then upset Kristina Mladenovic in the first round on Monday, winning all those matches in straight sets.

Yet she was brought undone by six double faults against the Slovakian, who progresses to a third round meeting with either No.2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska or Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak.

Dellacqua will team with Ash Barty for their first round doubles match later on Tuesday.

Fellow Australian Sam Stosur is currently battling it out at the Ariake Coliseum against local heroine Kimiko Date-Krumm.
