Victorian Anastasia Rodionova has combined with Russia’s Alla Kudryavtseva to win the doubles title at the WTA Challenge Bell in Quebec City, Canada.

The 6-4 6-3 victory came over top seeds and reigning US Open champions Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka, who had recently beaten Rodionova’s compatriots Ash Barty and Casey Dellacqua in the title match at Flushing Meadows.

“We’ve been working a lot over the last few years to play more as a team, and less as individuals, and we really complemented each other well here in QuĂ©bec,” Rodionova said.

“We really understand each other now.”

It was the Australian’s sixth career WTA doubles title, and second with Kudryavtseva; they also won the title at ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2010.

With her second doubles title of 2013 – she also won in Auckland with Cara Black – Rodionova rises to a WTA doubles ranking of No.32.
