Dallas, USA, 22 August 2012 | Tennis Australia

Casey Dellacqua has scored one of her finest wins since returning to tennis following injury-plagued 2009 and 2010 seasons, defeating world No.28 Yanina Wickmayer in Dallas.

Dellacqua beat the fourth seed after being down 4-1 in the opening set, recovering in style to post an impressive 6-4 6-3 victory over the Belgian.

It looked dire for the Western Australian in the opening stages of the match as she went down in the sixth game, staring down the barrel of a potential 5-1 deficit.

But she steadied, getting proceedings back on serve before eventually wresting control of the match.

Wickmayer, the fourth seed at the Texas Tennis Open, struggled on serve, hitting five double faults and just one ace and having trouble winning points behind her normally powerful first delivery.

While Dellacqua dished up five double faults as well, her first serve was far more effective, her winning percentage of first serve points finishing at 72 per cent.

With the win Dellacqua finds herself in the quarterfinals, where she will face Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak.
