Rain has washed out the men’s quarterfinals at the AEGON International where Australian Marinko Matosevic was due to play.
A qualifier for the Wimbledon warm-up event, Matosevic accounted for James Ward in the first round then followed up with an impressive three-set win over top seed Richard Gasquet.
Matosevic is due to face Belgian Steve Darcis in the quarters, a win could see the Australian take on Andy Roddick in the semifinals but Roddick must first overcome Italy’s Fabio Fognini who upset Bernard Tomic in the second round.
With no play on Thursday, the quarterfinals will be played on Friday morning, then the winners will return in the afternoon to contest the semifinals.
