Three Aussies have advanced to the final round of Wimbledon qualifying and stand just one victory away from a spot in the main draw.

Bernard Tomic beat Colombian Robert Farah in straight sets 6-1 6-4 in his second round match and will play Jean-Rene Lisnard of Monaco in the final round on Thursday for a spot in the 128-strong field for the third grand slam of the year, starting Monday

Australia is assured of at least one additional berth in the men’s singles at Wimbledon with compatriots Marinko Matosevic and Chris Guccione set to battle it out for a spot.

Guccione beat fourth seed Thomas Schoorel from Holland 7-6(5) 6-2 while Matosevic overcame Frenchman Guillaume Rufin 6-4 6-4.

Greg Jones and Matt Ebden were both beaten in their second round qualifying matches.

Meanwhile in the women’s qualifying event, Sophie Ferguson progressed to the second round while Casey Dellacqua and Sally Peers exited at the opening stage.
