Australia’s Jelena Dokic was knocked out of the WTA event in Copenhagen by a straight sets loss to Kazakh qualifier Galina Voskoboeva on Tuesday.

Dokic’s 6-3 6-1 loss saw her join another Australian, qualifier Johanna Konta who lost 4-6 7-5 6-3 to fourth seed Lucie Safarova, in failing to make the second round.

In other matches, Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki eased into the second round with a 6-2 6-3 win over unseeded American Irina Falconi.

Earlier, Simona Halep of Romania beat sixth-seeded Latvian Anastasija Sevastova 6-7 (7-5) 7-6 (7-4) 6-0, while fifth-seeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic won 6-2 6-1 over Sweden’s Sofia Arvidsson.
