Safeguarding Children

Tennis West and Tennis Australia have a zero tolerance approach to any form of child-abuse and are committed to ensuring the sport of tennis provides a safe and friendly environment for children and young people. All of us in the Australian tennis community have a role to play in ensuring that we keep our proud sport as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Tennis Australia has recently released Safeguarding Children Guidelines and a Club Resource Kit, developed following a national review conducted by the Australian Childhood Foundation. All club committee members are encouraged to read and apply the content.

To assist clubs to meet their obligations under the Safeguarding Children Guidelines and to become familiar with the Club Resource Kit, Tennis West ran four information and training workshops across the Perth metropolitan area.

Thank you to all committee members who attended one of these forums. We appreciate you taking the time to attend a workshop which discussed this very important topic.

The Club Resource Kit is available at tennis.com.au/childsafe. Affiliated clubs have also been provided with three Safeguarding Children resource posters via post and are encouraged to display these prominently at their venue.

For any enquiries, please contact Tennis West’s Member Protection Information Officer, Brooke Koenig, on [email protected] or 6462 8305.
