June 2018 Forum

Annual Presidents’ Evening

Tennis West held its annual Presidents’ Evening on Tuesday, 12 June 2018 at East Fremantle Lawn Tennis Club.

Presidents were treated to a red carpet entry along with networking opportunities and a tour of the Book a Court system functioning at EFLTC. While some enjoyed a hit on the newly laid cushioned acrylic courts, others were invited to discuss business development opportunities available to Tennis West Affiliated clubs.

The focus of discussion was centred around completion of the national survey conducted by Tennis Australia, known as the Operational Health Check. The survey benchmarks a series of performance indicators across the areas of management, usage and financial sustainability for affiliated tennis clubs and is conducted in partnership with the University of SA.

The raw data provided by participants remains confidential, but the results are used by Tennis Australia for future planning strategies therefore the completion of the survey by Western Australian clubs is paramount for our state.

After a hearty meal, the night moved onto a panel styled discussion, asking for clubs to openly discuss their income generated from court hire. The input from different clubs created a welcoming environment and demonstrated stark difference in the administration applied at each club within court hire.

Tennis West was proud to achieve a discussion which hopefully offered each club an element of learning which they could take back to their own clubs.
