Tennis Victoria is proud to recognise Sale Tennis Club as our Affiliate of the Month for November 2025!

Sale Tennis Club has created a standout space in Victoria’s tennis landscape, championing opportunities for women and girls both on and off the court.

In August, the club hosted a highly successful Open Day targeting Women & Girls, following the Gender Equity Training delivered at the club. This training was designed not only for tennis participants but also for the broader Wellington community, highlighting the club’s commitment to inclusivity.

The Open Day combined fun and social on-court activities with insights from local tennis player Jess Board, who currently competes in College tennis in the US. Jess shared her exciting tennis journey, inspiring participants and providing a relatable role model for young players.

Sale Tennis Club’s dedication to developing leadership among women and girls is also evident through their support of club volunteers and members in completing female leadership programs. Notably, Kellie Lazarro completed the Women Leaders in Tennis program, while her daughter Milla has participated in Learn to Lead, helping to cultivate the next generation of female leaders in tennis.

The club consistently keeps community at the forefront of its initiatives. This was recognised when Sale Tennis Club received the Most Outstanding Inclusion Initiative award at the 2025 Victorian Community Tennis Awards. The club has embraced over 80 Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) workers from countries including Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, and Vanuatu, providing ongoing access to tennis and fostering community connections.

Congratulations to everyone at Sale Tennis Club. Your commitment to inclusivity, leadership, and community engagement is broadening the reach of tennis in Victoria and setting a powerful example of how sport can unite and empower people from all backgrounds.
