30 September 2025 | Tennis Victoria

The 2025 Pennant Season showcased a multitude of epic stories and epitomised the great game of tennis in Victoria.

From fresh faces experiencing Pennant for the first time to long-time competitors continuing their journey, the season offered something for everyone. Broadford Tennis Club’s Men’s Grade 11 team made their debut this year, while Greythorn Park’s Grade 5 Women’s team also stepped into Pennant competition for the very first time. One Greythorn Park player reflected, “I like that it’s a step up from what I usually play, like Sunday morning comp, and we get a range of different ages and players to compete against.”

Beyond the on-court action, 2025 also marked the introduction of the inaugural Pride Rounds and First Nations Round. These celebrations brought a new dimension to pennant, embracing diversity and inclusion while strengthening the welcoming, community-focused environment that makes the competition so special.

Across the 18-week competition, there was multiple instances of stellar sportsmanship, team camaraderie and quality tennis being exhibited, which perfectly captured the importance of Pennant in being able to bring tennis players together from across an array of different regions in Victoria.

The weekend of September 13-14 cumulating in the conclusion of the Tennis Victoria Pennant Season, with the remaining grand finals and premierships awarded.

On Saturday 13 September, we experienced perfect weather playing conditions across the four venues of MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club, Altona Tennis Club, Royal Park Tennis Club and Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club.

As the 2025 season concludes, we want to congratulate all players who participated this season and thank all stakeholders that enabled us to deliver the success.
