Hogenkamp beats Hon in Seoul
Queensland teenager Priscilla Hon's run in Seoul came to an end at the hands of Richel Hogenkamp in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Priscilla Hon’s breakthrough week in Seoul ended on Friday with a quarterfinal loss to Richel Hogenkamp.
The Australian teen fell 6-3 6-4 in 75 minutes, bringing her four-match winning streak to a close.
Hon won two matches to qualify for the main draw before winning another two to advance to her first WTA quarterfinal.
Hogenkamp – ranked almost 200 places higher than the Queenslander – will in the semifinals meet Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia, who beat Sara Sorribes Tormo 6-4 6-4.
Hon, meanwhile, is projected to rise to a career high-ranking of No.234 next week.
