Three Aussies will head to Canada this week to contest the parallel ATP/WTA Canadian events.

Ash Barty and Daria Gavrilova are in the main draw at the Rogers Cup in Toronto, a WTA Premier 5 event featuring 16 of the world’s top 17.

Barty beat Katherine Sebov and Madison Brengle in qualifying to reach the main draw, where she will face Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin.

The winner will face either 16th seed Elena Vesnina or American Alison Riske; Garbine Muguruza, the No.4 seed and Wimbledon champion, looms as a potential third-round opponent.

Gavrilova tackles qualifier Lara Arruabarrena, the Spaniard who won their most recent meeting on grass in Eastbourne.

The winner would progress to a second-round meeting with either No.13 seed Kristina Mladenovic or Barbora Strycova of Czech Republic.

At the Coupe Rogers in Montreal, an ATP Masters 1000 event, Kyrgios has drawn Serb Viktor Troicki.

Kyrgios has struggled with his health of late, retiring from opening-round matches at Queen’s, Wimbledon and Washington DC.

Should his body cooperate and the seedings hold, he faces a possible third-round showdown with fourth seed Alexander Zverev.
