Australia’s Junior Davis Cup team beat Singapore 3-0 on the second day of the Asia / Oceania Final Qualifying event to maintain their 100 per cent record in New Delhi.

Australia, led by captain Ben Mathias, have yet to drop a set in the qualifier, following up their impressive win over Indonesia on day one with an equally emphatic victory against Singapore.

Stefan Storch (Vic) got the ball rolling with a 6-1 6-4 win over Robin Cheng, while Rinky Hijikati (NSW) continued his imperious form by defeating Ethan Lye 6-2 6-3 in the second rubber. Storch then teamed up with Ken Cavrak (Vic) to see off Cheng and Lye 6-0 6-0 in the doubles rubber.

Next up for the undefeated Australians is Korea, who also maintained their unbeaten start with a 3-0 victory over Indonesia. The two sides are already virtually guaranteed a place in the play-offs, which get underway on Thursday.

The ultimate goal is a place in the 2017 Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Finals, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from 18-23 September.
