Barty through to first ever semifinal
Another commanding performance in Kuala Lumpur has sent Ash Barty through to her first career WTA semifinal.

Ash Barty continued her dominant progress through the draw at the ALYA WTA Malaysian Open, beating Zhang Kai-Lin in straight sets on Friday.
The 6-0 7-6(2) victory sent the young Australian through to her first tour-level semifinal after three appearancesĀ at the quarterfinal stage.
Barty will next face the winner of the all-Chinese battle between No.6 seed Wang Qiang and Han Xinyun.

Having come through qualifying, Barty has now built a five-match winning streak in the Malaysian capital.
The world No.58, who reached the third round at Australian Open 2017, has recordedĀ a winning 6-0 set in her past four matches.
