Jordan Thompson continues to enjoy a purple patch of form in preparation for Australian Open 2017.

The 22-year-old caught the eye at the Brisbane International, where he partnered Thanasi Kokkinakis to the Men’s Doubles title. That form has continued as a wildcard in Sydney.

Thompson dominated proceedings to topple world No.94 Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets 7-5 6-2.

His reward is an Apia International Sydney second round clash with ATP veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber.
