Bernard Tomic has soared 20 places in the latest ATP rankings to return to the world’s top 60.

The rankings gain was made possible by his semifinal run at the Stockholm Open, during which he beat seeded players Kevin Anderson and Fernando Verdasco.

Grigor Dimitrov eventually stopped him in the last four, but the Australian pushed the then 10th-ranked Bulgarian all the way in a tight two-set match.

Tomic’s new ranking of No.56 makes him the third Aussie in the top 60, behind Lleyton Hewitt (No.52) and Nick Kyrgios (No.54).
