Australia has stormed to a commanding 3-0 win against Peru in its first match in the girls’ event at the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals in Prostejov, Czech Republic.

The victory sees the fourth-seeded Australian team already atop the Group C table, with matches to come against Poland and Czech Republic.

Jeanette Lin and Destanee Aiava both won their singles matches before Aiava combined with Gabriela Ruffels to complete the rout in the doubles rubber.

“Jeanette was completely dominant (while) Destanee was really tight at the start but worked her way through for a good solid win. Destanee and Gaby played a really dominant doubles (match),” said team coach Craig Tyzzer.

“Up against Poland tomorrow who will be stronger.”
