Kimberly Birrell and Bradley Mousley have both won through to the semifinals at the junior 2014 Australian Open.

Birrell came back from a set down to win a tough three-setter over Russian 10th seed Anastasyia Komardina 6-7 (7) 6-1 6-3 in a match that lasted over two hours.

It was a terrific show of mental toughness from the 15-year-old Queenslander who went down in a tough first set tiebreak (8-6) only to bounce back and take control of the match.

Earlier, Mousley progressed with a methodical straight-sets win over Polish ninth seed Kamil Majchrzak 6-3 6-4.

Mousley took just 33 minutes to win the first set breaking Majchrzak’s serve twice.

Majchrzak took an early ascendency in the second set, going up an early break before Mousley powered home, winning three straight games to take the match in an hour and four minutes.

More to come.
