Play has been called off for Saturday at the Optus 14s Australian Teams Championships at Melbourne Park due to rain.
Just over an hour was lost as early morning showers kept players off the courts and undercover.
But the early morning showers subsided and play began shortly after 10:00 am. The second day’s play, however, was short lived. After just over two hours play the dark clouds returned as the forecast storm settled in.
No ties were completed today, with tournament organisers hoping to finish matches on Sunday.
Most ties went as expected on day one, except for sixth-seeded South Australia’s surprise 2-1 win over third seeds Western Australia in the girls’ event.
