We are thrilled to announce the finalists for the 2025 Tennis Victoria Player Awards.
The Tennis Victoria Player Awards are coming up on Sunday 26 October at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, where we will celebrate the top-performing players, from Tennis Victoria Pennant through to the international stage.
Among the finalists for the Victoria Player of the Year are John Peers, Destanee Aiava and Jin Woodman who have all had impressive years on the professional tour.
Destanee Aiava has continued her impressive journey from the 2025 Australian Open (AO25). Now having competed in 3 Grand Slams this year, her momentum has continued to build since January. To read more about Destanee’s results from AO25 and her key achievements, click here.
For Jin Woodman, after recovering from a serious injury he sustained earlier this year from falling off his day chair and fracturing his femur, he was forced to take some time away from tennis. However, he returned in style, at the US open securing a stunning win on debut in the Quad Singles event.
Peers has continued his impressive form on the doubles circuit, following on from last year’s major success at the Paris Olympics, winning a Gold Medal alongside doubles partner Matt Ebden. Earlier this year at the Australian Open, Peers saw more success in winning the Mixed Doubles alongside fellow Aussie, Olivia Gadecki. The pair had a hugely succesful campaign which further cemented Peers as Victoria’s most celebrated doubles champion! Read more about Peers’ AO25 success here.
Tennis Victoria CEO, Kim Kachel shared: “The awards shine a light on the outstanding accomplishments of our players and coaches, highlighting the depth of talent across Victorian tennis. They’re a chance to celebrate the hard work, passion, and commitment that make our community so strong.”
In addition to the Player of the Year award, we will also recognise top-performing juniors, seniors and athletes with a disability, showcasing the wide range of skills within our Victorian tennis community.
To honour the crucial role coaches play in the development and success of our athletes, the Coaching Excellence – Development award will also be presented at the event.
The Tennis Victoria Pennant Player of the Year awards across all grades will be announced, recognising the best-performing players in Tennis Victoria Pennant from State Grade through to Grade 11.
