This Saturday, Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club will host the showdown between ladder leaders Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club and close challengers Fawkner Tennis Club, two of Victoria’s strongest men’s squads.
Both teams have earned their place on the big stage with dominant seasons and strong semi-final wins. Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club secured a 4–2–55 victory over MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club to book their home final, while Fawkner Tennis Club overcame North Ringwood Tennis Club 3–7–54 in their semi-final. As the team captain, David commented on the experience saying the “team’s feeling great ahead of the final series. It’s great to have a home final for sure. Playing on our courts and in front of our fans, it’ll be really exciting and finals is what it’s all about. It’s when players are at their best, teams are at their strongest and everyone’s got to bring their best, so we’re really excited and hopefully we can get it done.”
David Hough
A proven winner in community tournaments, David has been one of Kooyong’s key singles performers, winning 7 of 12 matches with 2 draws.
Hugh Callaghan
Adding depth to the squad, Hugh has a 2–2 record this season and brings competitive doubles experience to the team.
Luca Connaughton
Kooyong’s in-form singles player, Luca won 6 of 8 matches this season. His 2024 back-to-back singles victories at Tennis World Melbourne Park highlight his ability to perform under pressure.
Thomas Patton
Thomas has combined strong singles and doubles performances this season, winning 7 of 10 matches. He also captured the Murtleford Lawn Tennis Club Easter Tournament in both singles and doubles in 2025.
Cooper White
