The Bruce Cup is one of Australia’s most prestigious national school tennis championships, bringing together the country’s best girls and boys aged 12 and under. First held in 1938, now running for decades, it has served as a launching pad for some of Australia’s greatest tennis talent.
Conducted by School Sport Australia in partnership with Tennis Australia, the Bruce Cup gives students the unique opportunity to represent their state or territory in a team environment and compete at a national level.
This year, the Bruce Cup was held in Ballarat from Sunday 26 October to Saturday 1 November, providing a week full of fun, competition and teamwork. Team Vic delivered a strong and determined performance throughout the week, ultimately securing an impressive fourth place finish.
Tennis Victoria proudly supports School Sport Victoria (SSV) in delivering both the SSV State Championships and the Bruce Cup national primary school teams’ event. Through these pathways, Victorian primary school students can progress from local district trials all the way to representing Victoria on the national stage.
