Tennis Seniors Victoria President Bert Faux was delightfully surprised at a recent seniors event when recognised by the Tennis Victoria Board with a Highly Commended Service Award for his service to tennis.

A Highly Commended Service Award is an award to recognise those who have demonstrated their long-term volunteer contribution to the sport of tennis in Victoria through exemplary service to multiple Tennis Victoria affiliated clubs, Associations or Tennis Victoria. Service can be continuous or broken and should be no less than 15 years. A maximum of ten Highly Commended Service Awards are awarded per calendar year.

Bert has been the President of Tennis Seniors Victoria (TSV) since 2017 and was a committee member prior to that.

The lifeblood of TSV, Bert maintains the website and manages email communications. He runs the TSV events and tournaments on Tournament Planner, League Manager and utilises UTR software.

Bert assists with running TSV social events and was on the organising committee of the recent Australian Seniors Tennis Championships in Swan Hill.

Bert is a Tournament Referee and Tournament Director and volunteers his time as a court monitor.

Prior to his time with Tennis Seniors, Bert was the inaugural President of the Nottinghill Pinewood Tennis Club after being the interface between the former Pinewood Tennis Club and the Nottinghill Club and overseeing the transition and amalgamation.

A gentleman on and off the court, Bert has shown true dedication to the sport of tennis. He is firm but patient and a deserving recipient of this recognition.

After receiving the award Bert said he was completely surprised and it is something he will treasure.

Congratulations Bert!
