The UNCLOUD State Teams Championships will return to the Central West region in 2026, with Horsham Lawn Tennis Club once again set to host the event.
Following the recently announced two‑year partnership with Tennis Victoria and UNCLOUD, a peer-to-peer platform that supports young people to see vaping for what it really is, the collaboration will continue to strengthen the pinnacle event for junior team tennis in the state.
The UNCLOUD State Teams Championships is a major highlight of the team tennis calendar, bringing together the state’s top junior players to compete for regional and metropolitan pride. The tournament culminates in the awarding of the Pat Cash Cup, presented to the best-performing association or region across all age groups.
Around 160 players will take to the 24 grass courts in a round robin format, representing their metropolitan association or country region. Players will compete in boys’ and girls’ events across three age groups–12/u, 14/u, and Junior Open, with each round consisting of four singles matches and two mixed doubles matches.
Tennis Victoria CEO, Kim Kachel expressed his support for another fantastic edition of the event in Horsham.
“The UNCLOUD State Teams Championships continues to be a highlight on the junior tennis calendar, bringing together exceptional young athletes from every corner of Victoria. Horsham Lawn Tennis Club provides an outstanding venue for this competition, and we’re delighted to see the event return to such a welcoming and well‑prepared community.”
“We’re grateful for the tireless efforts of the Horsham Lawn Tennis Club volunteers and the ongoing commitment of the Horsham Rural City Council. Their support makes this UNCLOUD State Teams Championships possible each year.”
VicHealth’s Executive Manager Health Promotion Systems, Bonnie Matheson said the partnership with Tennis Victoria was important in protecting young Victorians from the harms of vaping and nicotine.
“Sport is where so many young people feel connected, confident and themselves, which makes it a powerful place to reach them with real facts about vaping. Events like the UNCLOUD State Teams Championships give us a unique opportunity to cut through the noise and counter the misinformation young people are exposed to every day.”
“We know physical activity plays a vital role in overall health, and UNCLOUD is about protecting that — helping young people understand the harms of vaping, and giving them the confidence to push back against the tactics of the tobacco and vaping industries trying to draw them in.”
Horsham Rural City Council Mayor Cr Brian Knows also welcomed the tournament’s return to the region.
“We’re proud to host the biggest junior tennis teams event in the region, and it will be fantastic to see our town buzzing with energy and excitement.”
