25 September 2025 | Tennis Victoria

The 2025 Victorian State Finals brought together over 150 of Victoria’s best junior players and their families for four days of competition and camaraderie at the Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre from 20–23 September. The tournament once again marked the pinnacle of the Junior Tour season, showcasing skill, dedication, and the passion these young athletes bring to the sport.

Multiple rain interruptions tested the patience of everyone involved, but players, parents, and officials handled the delays with remarkable positivity, maintaining a supportive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the event. The tournament ultimately concluded under clear skies, with the final day offering perfect conditions for the closing rounds.

Off the court, the environment was lively and welcoming. Players described their experiences on the Junior Tour and at the State Finals as both exciting and fun, despite being a little chaotic due to the weather. Although the tournament focuses on singles play, it was encouraging to see young athletes forming friendships and using the event as an opportunity to meet new people and connect through tennis.

The smooth running of the tournament was made possible thanks to the outstanding support of the Bendigo Regional Tennis Association and its dedicated volunteers. Tennis Victoria also extends a special thank you to the Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre for providing exceptional facilities and warm hospitality, and the City of Greater Bendigo for their valued partnership in hosting this showcase of Victoria’s finest junior talent.

As always, the State Finals represent the culmination of a season of dedication, with every participant earning their place in Bendigo through strong performances across the Junior Tour.

Tournament Director, Scott Johnston, commented: “Despite the rain, the resilience and talent of our top Victorian juniors truly shone through in tough conditions. The State Finals brought out the best in our players, showcased across four fantastic days in Bendigo. It was a testament to the hard work and dedication these athletes have put in throughout the year to reach one of the most significant events on the Victorian tournament calendar”.

Congratulations to all athletes who competed, demonstrating their skills, sportsmanship, and determination.
