
The Victorian Community Tennis Awards recognise Victoria’s on and off court success in a community tennis celebration. Congratulations to the following three finalists for the Most Outstanding Tournament award!
2024 Victorian School Boys and School Girls Championships – Mornington Tennis Centre
The 2024 Championships attracted 314 players and were held across three venues on the Mornington Peninsula: Mornington Tennis Centre (main venue), Dromana Tennis Club, and Red Hill Tennis Club. Mornington provided full amenities, sponsor activations, and hosted all finals. Players enjoyed access to gym facilities, canteen, restringing, pro shop, and warm-up areas.
Event promotion spanned social media, club websites, and Team App, with daily updates and competitions supported by sponsors Peninsula MG and Head Tennis. Peninsula MG showcased vehicles on-site, ran a “guess the tennis balls” competition, and sponsored trophies. Head Tennis provided gear prizes for the winners.
The event received strong praise for its organisation, facilities, and customer service, with standout feedback from families appreciating communication, match scheduling, and amenities. Peninsula MG confirmed ongoing sponsorship following the event’s success and high levels of community engagement.
Myrtleford Lawn Tennis Club’s 35th Easter Tournament (Senior and Junior) – Myrtleford Lawn Tennis Club
The 2024 Myrtleford Easter Tournament welcomed over 500 players across Junior, Open, and Senior events on the club’s picturesque grass courts. Held in the heart of Victoria’s High Country, the tournament continues to attract players from across the state for a fun, social, and competitive weekend of tennis.
The family-friendly event featured a full tournament kitchen, local vendor support, and community atmosphere, with camping permitted courtside and at nearby grounds. The club hosted a social BBQ and Easter raffle, while matches ran smoothly across four full days. Local sponsors provided prizes and supported court maintenance.
Known for its welcoming environment and excellent hospitality, the event received outstanding feedback. The club is already taking steps to enhance the 2025 edition, further cementing its reputation as a must-attend tournament on the Easter calendar
2025 03K J125 Rye Tennis Club 46th Annual Australia Day Tournament – Rye Tennis Club
The 2024 Rye Australia Day Tournament drew 275 players to the Rye Tennis Club, competing across Open, Junior, and Senior age groups over the long weekend. Held on the club’s 18 hard courts, the event is known for its community spirit, competitive draw, and popular Australia Day BBQ.
The tournament delivered a seamless experience for players and families, with scheduled match times, a full canteen, and morning coffee from a local cart. Finals day included presentations and sponsor recognition, with support from the Mornington Peninsula Shire and local businesses.
Families praised the friendly volunteers, the quality of courts, and the laid-back coastal vibe. With strong community support and continued growth in entries, the event remains a summer highlight on the Victorian Tennis calendar.
