20 December 2024 | Tennis Victoria
Victoria’s tennis clubs have been smashing it—not just on the court, but by collecting and returning thousands of recyclable containers through the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme.
Over the past two months, tennis clubs across the state have gone head-to-head in an exciting competition, thanks to the partnership between Tennis Victoria and CDS Vic. This initiative has provided an incredible way to raise funds, support sustainability, and compete for fantastic prizes, including tickets to the Australian Open.
And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…
Taking home the title as both the State Winner and the Regional Winner for the Country West division, congratulations to Romsey Tennis Club!
Romsey’s outstanding efforts have earned them:
- 2 x Men’s Australian Open Final tickets
- 2 x Ground Pass tickets, each with exclusive behind-the-scenes tours
Well done to Romsey for your huge effort in leading the way!
Regional Winners
In addition to Romsey, congratulations to the winning clubs in each region:
- Country East: Sale Tennis Club
- Metro North West: Plenty Tennis Club
- Metro South East: Mount Eliza Tennis Club
Each of these clubs has won:
- 2 x Partner Reserve tickets to the Australian Open
- 2 x Ground Pass tickets
Congratulations to all the winners, and a huge shoutout to every tennis club in Victoria that participated. Together, you’ve collected and returned thousands of containers, making a real difference for the environment and your communities.
Tennis Victoria CEO, Kim Kachel, commended the efforts of all participating clubs, saying:
“This partnership between Tennis Victoria and CDS Vic is a fantastic example of how sport can lead the way in sustainability. The collective effort of clubs across the state has not only raised funds for tennis but also contributed to a cleaner, greener Victoria. Congratulations to our winners and to every club that got involved—you’ve shown the power of community spirit and environmental responsibility. We look forward to the partnership only building from here as clubs and communities continue to get involved.”
