Congratulations to Sharon Clough from Central Park Tennis Club and Central Wimmera Tennis Association who has been recognised for her contribution to tennis with a Tennis Service Award.

A member of the Central Wimmera Tennis Association Committee since 2002, Sharon was the Treasurer in 2004, and the Secretary from 2008-2010. She was also the Junior Coordinator of Central Park Tennis Club from 2011 to 2013 and Secretary of Wimmera Tennis Council, now Wimmera Regional Tennis in 2011.

Sharon puts in an enormous amount of time into the roles of Secretary both for Central Park Tennis Club and the wider Tennis Association. She did a power of work during Covid to get the season up and running and ensure that clubs were meeting the guidelines in place. This work ensured no time was lost in the 2020-2021 season which is remarkable given the state of play at the time.

Sharon is a terrific support to the other members of the Executive. She ensures tennis continues to thrive in the region. Her passion is evident in her club and association roles. Quietly going about her job, she provides the appropriate communications and support for clubs to carry out their role in the association.

During Sharon’s tenure, the senior tennis awards have been introduced for the association which has been well received by clubs and players. She is also involved in the delivery of junior tournaments, pre-season warm up events, working bees, fundraising, training, grant applications and any other promotional programs delivered.

Sharon was awarded Life Membership at Central Park Tennis Club in 2007. This Tennis Service Award is another recognition of Sharon’s outstanding contribution to tennis. Congratulations Sharon!
