Frankston Centenary Tennis Club hosted the 2024 Signature 20K Victorian Hardcourt Championships from Monday 12 – Friday 16 February 2024.

A big week of competition was capped off with the Finals on Friday.

In the women’s singles’, top seed Victorian Alana Parnaby was up against second seed Monique Barry. An incredibly tight contest from start to finish, Barry took the first set in a tie breaker. Parnaby fought back in the second set to force a deciding set. The third set went down to the wire to a tie breaker with Barry prevailing in the end. The three-hour battle in warm conditions pushed both players who then paired up together to contest the doubles final.

The pressure of the singles final only propelled Barry and Parnaby [1] when they took on Ashley Katz and Tenika McGiffen [2] in the women’s doubles final. The fatigue of the three hour marathon singles final wasn’t enough to hold them back taking the doubles title 6-1 6-1.

The men’s singles and doubles finals were both walkovers following an injury to No.1 seed Thomas Braithwaite.
