Get to know the 2024 Tennis Victoria Country Week Legends:

Kieran Fitzgerald from Not Our Faultz

It’s 50 years since Kieran’s first Country Week at Kooyong.

A Runner Up in A Grade in 1974 and Winner in 1975 he missed Country Week in 1976 to get married!

Kieran’s most recent win was B Special 2 in 2018. He’s a stalwart of Country Week, a friendly face around the courts and ensured the love of Country Week resonated through the family with son Aidan also playing at Country Week.

Kerry White from Ragers Inc

Kerry has attended Country Week for over 30 years. Kerry is the organiser for all the accommodation for the team, she arranges the team uniforms including the all important fancy dress for off court. Kerry will be found at all the social events providing fun and entertainment for everyone.

Kerry is so committed to her team, one year she continuing to play on a broken ankle!

Mary Dewis from Euroa Purple

Mary has been involved with Euroa Tennis Club her whole life and involved with Country Week for over 35 years.

She epitomises Country Week – community, team spirit, helping out and fun. Mary is a team player who joyfully organises the team each year.

Her involvement in tennis doesn’t stop at Country Week, she’s also a committed contributor to the Euroa Tournament for over 20 years.

David Kos from Mud Island

Competing at Country Week for decades, David has only missed one year due to the birth of his son. A true gentleman on the court, and an exceptional player without ego, he’s an unselfish team member who will often sit out on grand finals to ensure his team mates get a chance to play. David is very social and inclusive of others off court. He is well known and liked for his engaging personality – he will talk to anyone and everyone and leave and impression.

“Isn’t it funny I’m getting rewarded for staying up late, chatting to people and playing tennis all week which is all of the things I get in trouble for at home” said David upon receiving his award. Like all of our Country Week Legends, they bring the community together and help make everyone included.
