11 December 2023 | Tennis Victoria

November, like most months in our sport, was another busy time.

AO on the Road finished in Shepparton this week. Thank you to everyone across regional Victoria who supported these events. The Australian Open trophies, ‘Norm and Daphne’ have had a fantastic time on the road and will finish their tour at our Inter-regional Country Championships in January in Benalla.

Tennis Victoria Premier League arrived and finished in fantastic style. Each of the rounds was well attended with the final taking place in the Stadium at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club and broadcast on Kayo Sports. Congratulations to MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club who took out the Women’s title again and Grace Park Hawthorn Club who surprised the undefeated MCC Glen Iris Valley Men’s team to take the title. Congratulations to all players, award winners and participating clubs on another fantastic season.

The Tennis Victoria Premier League finals followed the inaugural Player Awards event. This event was delivered to recognise the achievements of Tennis Victoria Pennant players. Congratulations to everyone who was recognised on the day. One of the highlights of the morning was the Life Membership presentation to Warren Maher. Warren is familiar to many of you for his lifetime of commitment and dedication to tennis. Congratulations Warren.

As I mentioned in the last edition of Tennis Victoria News, I have tendered my resignation and will finish up at Tennis Victoria in January. In preparation for the transition, I am pleased to let you know that Tamatha Harding will step up as Interim CEO until a new CEO is appointed. With over 20 years of experience at Tennis Victoria, Tam will officially commence as Interim CEO when I go on leave on 14 December. As a result of Tam stepping into the CEO role, Paul Senior will be Interim Head of Tennis Development and Peter Bertoncini will be Interim Regional Tennis Manager for Country Victoria. Please continue to reach out to your Tennis Development Officer for any support you may require. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the wider Victorian Tennis Community, I have developed so many great relationships across my time at Tennis Victoria and I will always cherish these relationships and memories created.

As December is upon us, it’s a busy time for everyone, both on and off the court. I would like to take this opportunity to wish those of you who celebrate, a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.

I hope to see many of you at the Kooyong Classic and the Australian Open in January.

Until next time,

Adam Crameri

Chief Executive Officer
