Victoria, 3 February 2023 | Tennis Victoria

Tennis Victoria Pennant returns in 2023 for its 140th year. And to celebrate, we are excited to announce the return of State Grade.

State Grade was a feature of Tennis Victoria’s Competitive Play program before the emergence of Tennis Victoria Premier League and the Asia-Pacific Tennis League.

With Tennis Victoria Pennant celebrating its 140th year, it’s the perfect time to re-launch State Grade.

Tennis Victoria CEO Adam Crameri is excited to see State Grade return. “We know State Grade was hugely popular and we hope to see that passion for the competition return in 2023. Tennis Victoria Pennant is celebrating its 140th year and adding State Grade to the competition playing opportunities will cater for the high-performance Victorian tennis athletes in our community.”

So what will State Grade bring to the competition landscape in Victoria?

Tennis Victoria Competitions Lead Nat Allsop said “We’ve listened to the players and we’re excited to bring State Grade back. State Grade will offer players longer competitive play with best of two doubles and singles rubbers. We’ll be offering two super rounds which have proved very popular in Premier League and will give all State Grade players an opportunity to play at the one venue together.”

Commencing on Saturday 3 May 2023, State Grade will feature 8 Teams across both the Women’s and Men’s competitions.

Registrations for Tennis Victoria Pennant, including State Grade open on Monday 6 February 2023
