Tennis Victoria wishes to congratulate the members of the Victorian tennis community who have recently been announced as finalists for the Victorian Sport Awards.

Congratulations to:

  • Fawkner Park Tennis Centre who are a finalist for the Love the Game Community Sporting Club of the Year award.
  • Liz Tektonopoulos from Greenvale Tennis Club who is a finalist for the VALO Volunteer of the Year award.
  • Aidan Fitzgerald from Giant Tennis and Castlemaine Tennis Club who is a finalist for the Gallagher Community Coach of the Year award.
  • Glenn Busby from Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club who is a finalist for the Involve Masters Athlete of the Year award.
  • Ferntree Gully Tennis Club who are a finalist in the Polytan Peter Norman Inclusion Award category.
  • Maurice Gleeson of Blind Sport and Recreation Victoria who is also a finalist in the Polytan Peter Norman Inclusion Award category.
  • Dylan Alcott AO who is a finalist in the Governor’s Award Victorian Male Athlete of the Year – Frank Wilkes Award
  • Gabriella Tobias who is a finalist in the GameDay Sports Administrator of the Year – Eunice Gill Award.

Fawkner Park Tennis Centre, Liz Tektonopolous, Aidan Fitzgerald and Glenn Busby all won Victorian Tennis Awards in their category in October 2021 with Maurice Gleeson being named the Spirit of Tennis for 2022. Fawkner Park Tennis Centre, Liz Tektonopolous and Glenn Busby all went on to win the corresponding Australian Tennis award in December 2021.

Tennis Victoria congratulates all finalists and wishes them the best of luck for the Victorian Sport Awards evening on Wednesday 15 June where winners will be announced.
