For more than 20 years now, the Kooyong Foundation has been helping young Australian tennis players thrive. The foundation was created by members of Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club wanting to put something back into the game and support junior tennis.

The foundation’s goal is to give deserving young tennis players the chance to develop their potential at Kooyong, many players which have gone onto represent at a State, National and International level.

Names which include Marc Polmans, Fed Cup representatives Sally Peers & Destanee Aiava, NCAA Champion for the Florida Gators Belinda Woolcock and Tokyo 2020 Bronze Medallist John Peers.

The inaugural Corporate Pro Am on Monday December 13 was the first of it’s kind, supporting the Foundation in developing junior tennis players, whilst hosting entertaining, professional players at Kooyong.

14 corporate teams entered a team of four players, these players were then paired with a Kooyong Foundation Scholarship Player and a Pro.

After playing 6 rounds of competition on the grasscourts throughout the day, the final was held on Kooyong’s historic centre court.

Congratulations to Shadforth Financial Group for winning the inaugural championship. Shadforth’s Foundation Scholarship player was Ollie Elsmlie and to cap off an incredible 2021 year, John Peers was the Pro player.
