7 June 2017 | Tennis Victoria

Tennis Victoria hosted the Presidents of the Victorian Top 50 Clubs on Sunday 4 June 2017 at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.

An inaugural event, hosted by Brett Phillips, guests were welcomed by Tennis Victoria President Gary Clark who informed the group that they make up 44% of club participants in Victoria and 19% of the national club figures. An extraordinary number from these high performing clubs.

Tennis Victoria CEO, Matthew Kennedy, then thanked the group for their hard work in growing the game of tennis in Victoria.

Australian tennis great, Judy Dalton spoke with Brett Phillips about the future of womens tennis and the great position it is in at the moment, especially on the back of the inclusion of Destanee Aiava to join fellow Victorian Daria Gavrilova. Jaimee Fourlis also gained valuable experience from her time with the Fed Cup Team in Serbia.

Reigning Newcombe Medallist Dylan Alcott entertained the crowd with his wit and humor. Dylan has been a wonderful advocate for the sport and a worthy Newcombe Medallist last year which was in addition to his tennis titles and Gold Medals he gained in Rio.

The afternoon was well rounded with a great opportunity for clubs to network and mingle with each other. Presidents were able to share experiences, gain valuable insight from fellow Presidents and build a network for years to come.

Thank you to all that attended and thank you to Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club for hosting us.
