MY Tennis School was excited to have ex-Australian men’s basketball Coach, Brian Goorjian, attend to talk to the students about his experiences in sport last week.

Brian shared some of these experiences, including those in his current position working with young athletes in China, his time coaching in the NBL and with the Australian men’s basketball team. This included coaching at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

Brian was most informative as he detailed the similarities and differences in the preparation, participation and discipline of young Chinese and Australian athletes.

He also talked to the students about the factors he considers important in order to achieve your best in sport and what sacrifices you need to make in order to achieve these. He mentioned that these factors were common to athletes across all sports.

Brian’s talk was very engaging and relevant to all athletes at MY Tennis School. He was very willing to share his knowledge and the students were very appreciative of the time he spent with them.
