Local umpire Myles Emery was amongst 19 officials from across Australia to have the honour of being part of the Davis Cup tie between Australia and the USA.

Myles has been one of Australia’s top umpires for many years and has worked finals at the Australian Open and also had the privilege of working at the US Open.

Myles is also actively involved at local tournament’s, including the recent Canberra Challenger and contributes to training and development of local officials.

“We are so proud of the achievements of Myles and we know that he will represent Canberra admirably” says Martin Oosthuysen, NSW/ACT Officiating Development Coordinator.

Myles, amongst the other eleven officials at this year’s Australian Open all started their journey through a line umpire course and on court practical sessions with the support of local officials.
