ACT Women’s League

Tennis ACT is committed to providing competitive play opportunities for tennis players of all levels in the ACT. The new women’s league will provide women with an opportunity to play in a women’s only league. Play your way, with the opportunity to play every week or come and go as you please. Players will only be required to play in six (6) of the eight (8) rounds if they want to be eligible to win the league.

Entry Fee & Entry Requirements: Entry fee of $12 (per week). Players will need to have a Competitive Player Profile (CPP) to participate. To set up a CPP, please follow the link HERE. There are 36 entry spots available for players each week. If entries are full, please email [email protected]

Process: Registrations for each Wednesday will close the Monday two (2) days prior. Tennis ACT will schedule matches on Tuesday, and communicate outwards to players of the draw via Match Centre & Email. Matches will be played on Wednesday night between 6:30pm-9pm at the Canberra Tennis Centre.

Players who are a member of a club will receive priority for those on the Waitlist.

PLAYER INFORMATION

Season Length: 8 weeks, with players signing up each week to play.

Times: Players will play two 50min timed matches across two timeslots at 7pm & 8pm with players encourage to arrive at 6:30pm for a 7pm start.

Location: All 8 rounds will be hosted at Canberra Tennis Centre in Lyneham on the Synthetic Grass Courts

Structure: Players will play two doubles rubbers with he same partner against two different teams. the Match format will be one (1) set, first to six (6) games, with a first to 7 TB at 5-5. Matches will be timed for 50 minutes.

Age: Minimum age of 16 as at final day of competition.

Teams: Players will register individually, with Tennis ACT assigning doubles partners for each week, and each match.

Grading: As this is a pilot, players will be graded as best we can until data comes through which allows for the Competitive Play team to have more accurate grading information.

Draws & Results: Tennis ACT will update the weekly draw each Tuesday, and notify all players who are entered into that weeks play. Players will be able to see results online at  Match Centre (once published). All results are UTR verified.
