Holy Trinity Primary School

Holy Trinity Primary School use a structured, inclusive, and community-driven approach to deliver tennis to all students each year.

Tennis is a key part of the physical education and wellbeing program with years 2–6 having tennis included as part of their formal PE program, while Foundation and Year 1 students develop tennis-related skills through their perceptual motor program.

The school encourages a strong culture of student led play promoting values of responsibility, teamwork and perseverance. Students are increasingly engaging in tennis out-of-school seeking out lessons and competitive play opportunities.

Holy Trinity’s integration of tennis is a whole-school effort, backed by committed staff, enthusiastic students, and strong community connections, making tennis a standout feature of our school’s sporting identity.

In 2024, Holy Trinity achieved outstanding success, winning the ACT titles in both the Wally Masur and Todd Woodbridge Cups. The Todd Woodbridge team went on to represent the ACT in Sydney and finished as runners-up

Holy Trinity actively integrates tennis into their PE curriculum across all year levels, with nets set up lunch and recess periods. There is such high demand for the courts, that they had to implement a timetable, so all kids are able to play!

The school regularly competes in the Wally Masur Cup and Todd Woodbridge Cup.

Red Hill Primary School

Red Hill Primary School is extremely committed to ensuring tennis is embedded into the school environment. They deliver tennis programs to the entire school community from kindergarten to year 6.

Due to popular demand, the school has established a relationship with local tennis clubs and offers a Lunchtime Tennis Club for those wishing to play which is run by the student Sports Leaders.

The school had many who had never played before showing up to their lessons with kids picking up a racquet for the very first time. By the end of the program, they were able to rally in tennis!

The school is now set to host their own ‘mini’ tennis competition in Term 3, and a number of other fantastic initiatives to grow the sport at their school.
