Green Ball Series (GBS) 2026
In 2026, the Victorian Green Ball Series (GBS) will comprise of 60 tournaments throughout Metro and Regional Victoria. These 10/u tournaments will provide players with the opportunity to compete for GBS points throughout the year, which will contribute to a Statewide points race, providing the pathway into end of year State Finals, Super 10’s trials and 10/u Green Ball Nationals.

GBS Structure:
- State-Wide Leaderboard
- All player points will be combined into a single, statewide leaderboard.
- Top 8 Results Count
- Only a player’s best 8 singles results will contribute to their Victorian GBS Points Race total.
- Tiered Competition Levels
- Tournament levels (stated below) help differentiate events by the degree of participation and performance.
- It allows players to better plan their tournament pathway and understand the weight of each event.
Tournament Levels
- GBS500: 500 points for the winner
- GBS250: 250 points for the winner
- GBS125: 125 points for the winner

Points Allocation
A player’s best 8 results in singles will count towards the players Victorian Green Ball Series Points Race total
- e.g. if a player plays in all 4 GBS 500’s and 4 GBS250’s and wins all tournaments, the player will have maximised the number of available points at 3,000 points, and all other tournaments they play in after reaching that number will not influence their standings.
Draw Types and Score Formats
All Green Ball Series Tournaments will be Round Robin (RR) with Elimination Playoffs where required.
- If an event has 5 players or less, only one RR group is to be played.
- If an event has 6-12 players, two RR groups to be played with winners and runner up of groups advancing to semis and finals.
- If an event has 13-24 players, four RR groups to be played with winners of groups advancing to semis and finals.
- If an event has 25-48 players, eight RR groups to be played with winners advancing to Quarterfinals, semis and finals.
- If an event has 49-96 players, sixteen RR groups to be played with winners advancing to Round of 16, to QF, semis and finals
*A tournament may decide to change draw type to elimination if entries impact capacity requirements*
- Matches are to be played with best of 1 Tie-break set with Tie-break at 6-6.
*A tournament may decide to change score format to ensure that the event finishes within the time requirements*
Age Qualification – Green Ball Series
For a player to be eligible they must be 10 years or younger to participate. A player’s competition age category and his/her eligibility to participate in the Green Ball Series will be based on the player’s age as of the last day of the month of the respective Green Ball Series tournament. Eligibility of entry into the GBS State Final and National events will be determined on the players age as of 31st December 2026 (e.g., ineligible if born in 2015 and below).
Qualifying Period
The points qualification period for the 2026 Victorian State Final will be from 1 January 2025 to 4 October 2026.
Seeding – Green Ball Series Tournaments
Seeding will be based on the Coloured Ball and/or UTR Rating, with yellow ball having priority, followed by Green, Orange and then Red.
Super 10s Trial Information
A player position on the Statewide 10/u leaderboard will be used as a guide for selection into the Super 10s Season 1 and 2, as well as Wildcard discretion from Tennis Victoria and Tennis Australia’s High-Performance Team. The top 32 players (boys & girls) on the leaderboard will be invited to the Victorian Green Ball Series State Final which will be played on 31 October – 2 November (Melbourne Cup Weekend)
