Regional Team Events are held across Victoria each year for teams from both metropolitan associations and from our 11 country regions. These prestigious team events showcase emerging junior talent and provide players with the opportunity to represent their region in a team environment. The selection of athletes for each team is based on merit and the individual selection processes within each association and region.

Expressions of Interest – Regional Teams Events Advisory Panel (RTE-AP)

Tennis Victoria invites expressions of interest for the Regional Teams Events Advisory Panel (RTE-AP).

The RTE-AP represents the 11 Country Regions on behalf of Tennis Victoria (TV) in overseeing the Regional Team Events. This panel consists of dedicated volunteers from each region, responsible for promoting events, managing team selection processes, and coordinating team entries.

Regional Team Events

The panel oversees the following events:

• Inter-Regional Country Championships (Junior & Senior)

• Two Regional Team Events (Junior)

• State Teams Championships, including the Pat Cash Cup (Junior)

• Wayne Arthurs Cup (10/u event)

• Frank Sedgman Cup (11/u event)

• Alicia Molik Cup (12/u event)

Regional Panel Structure

Each region’s panel aims to have 3-4 volunteers, with the following key requirements:

• At least one tennis coach involved

• Volunteers representing the geographical spread of their region

Roles & Responsibilities

Each panel will include the following roles:

• Panel Lead – Primary liaison with Tennis Victoria

• Uniform Coordinator – Manages grants, funding, and uniform distribution

• Communications Coordinator – Oversees WhatsApp groups, social media, and email updates

• Website & Registration Coordinator – Handles online registration and event updates

• Inter-Regional Country Championships (IRCC) Lead – Manages coordination for the largest event

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking knowledgeable and experienced individuals who can enhance and support our regional events. Volunteers can contribute to one or multiple roles listed above.

We encourage interest from a diverse cross-section of regional representatives, including:

• Parents of junior players

• Tennis coaches

• Club/association committee members

• Senior players involved in Inter-Regional Country Championships

• Tennis enthusiasts passionate about growing regional tennis

Nomination Criteria

To be eligible, nominees must:

• Hold a current Working with Children Check

• Operate within Tennis Australia’s Safeguarding Children Guidelines Available Here
